You can use link Google Classrooms to your Tynker account and import your students directly from your Classrooms. When you are using the Google Classroom option with Tynker, each assignment will appear in your students feed and they will be able to click on the link in their feed to go directly to Tynker.
To set up Google Classrooms, first you need to give Tynker access to your Google Classroom account. When you log in, you should see a pop-up. Make sure that you click yes to give permission. Then, go to My Classes and click Add Classroom. If your permissions are set up correctly, you will see the option to pick from a drop down of your Google Classrooms. When adding Google Classrooms, you will be adding the whole class, not individual students.
If you think you have given permission but you do not see the option for Google Classrooms, follow these steps:
- First go to https://myaccount.google.com/permissions and check if Tynker has permission to access your account.
- If it does, remove the access.
- Open a Google Chrome tab and open a Guest Window by clicking on the user in the top right. You could also use an incognito window.
Go to Tynker.com and log in through your google account.
If you wait a second, you should see a pop up for you to give Google permissions. Select Yes and you should be done.
-
If you don't see the pop-up, check at the top to see if you have the symbol with the red X
Click on the symbol and you will see a drop down with a link at the top. Click on that link and it will open the pop-up. Select Yes and you should be done. You will be able to see your Google Classrooms when you try to add a new class.
